How are wedding vendors pivoting in the new, ever-changing reality of COVID? One company, Harvest Kitchen Catering, is investing in the new buzz of micro-weddings. The company owns a beautiful, intimate venue in North County San Diego, called The Boardroom. Up until now, space has been used for birthday parties, meetings, and corporate events. They never imagined the space to be a wedding ceremony or reception venue. But through a new pair of eyes, they saw the possibilities. After some investments in lighting and decor, the PR powerhouse of Refined by Suher, and an all-star vendor team, The Boardroom is now the trendiest all-inclusive micro-wedding space in San Diego.

Why transform the venue into a micro-wedding space? Owner David Holtze and Sales Manager, Sammi Shrigley, have watched first-hand the struggle couples are going through with their wedding planning due to COVID. Some couples have re-planned their wedding 3 times! The team realized offering couples an affordable yet decadent option to host a small ceremony/reception with a curated list of their loved ones is necessary. And a trend that is here to stay.

San Diego Magazine dubbed the space as “farmhouse chic” when they awarded The Boardroom Best Catered Event Space in 2019, and we couldn’t agree more. Custom craftsmanship exists throughout, due to David’s self-proclaimed addiction to woodwork. A 25-foot live edge oak bar, tasting tables, chairs, and artistic accents throughout give this place a unique warm charm.

They also realized the awesome amount of decision making required to plan your wedding. But not at The Boardroom. They have simplified the process by including all the basics (venue, tables, chairs, food, bar) and then allowing guest to go a la carte, or leave it to the pros and choose their Peace of Mind package which includes a  Photographer, DJ, bakery, florist, decor; all handpicked for ease.

It’s just a matter of what you want your wedding and event to look like and feel. They are all about the experience at The Boardroom and when it’s time to celebrate…they have it all worked out for you.

They provide all the necessities; tables, chairs, plates, silverware, glassware, sound/video, food, drinks. You provide the inspiration. If you’re planning an executive meeting, your wedding,  rehearsal dinner, or a birthday party, The Boardroom is your canvas to create a special experience. With a 1:00 am curfew.. the dancing will go well into the night with memories to last a lifetime.
