Both John and Katie knew of the San Diego Woman’s Club from the periodic
tango dances that are held there. They wanted a garden setting, but
given the possibility of El Nino rain decided an indoor venue would be
better. Katie had already selected a dress in an early mid-Century
style, and it turns out the Woman’s Club was built in 1948. A theme was
born! Although it looks more dated in broad daylight, the venue has what
they were looking for in terms of a large, beautiful dance floor, space
for 200 guests, an accessible location, and that tango connection. In
the evening light, they envision the ambiance of an elegant late
40’s/early 50’s dinner and dance club.
