#StypTakesTheLeap was a bi-cultural wedding
celebration of Syp Vandy and Steven Siligato. The day begins with a
traditional Laotian groom’s parade to meet his bride and be welcomed
into the ceremony. Guests partook in a string-tying ritual to
wish the newlyweds well in their marriage. To cap the morning, the
bride’s nieces performed a few folk dances. In the late afternoon,
the festivities continued with a non-denominational ceremony followed by a
cocktail hour and reception. As dance is a huge passion of the bride’s,
attendees of #StypTakesTheLeap were entertained by a couple
more choreographed performances as well as dancing the night away.
