Newly Engaged Couples
Talia & Jon
July 22, 2017
Balboa Park in San Diego is such a unique venue with museums, incredible architecture and stunning gardens. Talia and Jon are so in love and we all had a great time running around the park, even with Talia in her Louboutins! Can't wait for their wedding next summer at Calamigos Ranch.
Casey & Michael
July 18, 2017
These two originally met in 2011, but only started dating in 2014 after a chance encounter on the train! Three years later, to the date, Michael decided to make it official with a ring. It's clear they were meant to be together!
Kelly & Daniel
July 15, 2017
These University of San Diego love birds met in college and were instantly a match made in accounting heaven! From the beaches to the parks to their love of craft beers, Kelly & Daniel love all things San Diego! Earlier this year, Daniel tried and tried again to meet up with Kelly's parents to get permission for her hand in marriage but was constantly intercepted by Kelly! According to Daniel, it has always been pretty hard to surprise Kelly so pulling off the proposal had to be simple but sneaky. Of course Kelly's parents approved and Daniel proposed to Kelly at Sunset Cliffs in La Jolla in December of 2016.
After meeting Kelly & Daniel at a bridal show at the US Grant (which will be their wedding venue in 2018), we instantly connected! A few months later we did their engagement session in Balboa Park. With a love for architecture and bright, natural colors, Kelly & Daniel looked right at home in this outdoor setting. Kelly & Daniel wanted to take advantage of different perspectives and just have tons of fun. Even after admitting they felt shy in front of the camera and might need a lot of guidance, you would never know! Their playfulness and love for each other was infectious and we are so excited for their wedding next year at the US Grant (ceremony at the Immaculata at USD - where they had their first date going to mass).
Jennifer & William
July 1, 2017
William popped the question at his and Jenn's adorable daughter's 2nd birthday party. It was a Disney-themed day that ended with a fairy-tale finish in two people in love!
Chrisy & Noland
June 19, 2017
From the photographer: Noland is with the Coast Guard in Northern California and had a week off that he decided to make the most memorable week of a lifetime. He flew home to propose to the love of his life, Chrisy. I had such a blast capturing Noland & Chrisy's proposal at Bailey's Palomar Resort! Bailey's had a rustic mountainous atmosphere that we were able to take advantage of. It was so much fun seeing Noland & Chrisy's goofy side shine through during this very special session. This location was very special to Noland, as his parents were married there many years ago. The tradition continues!
How we met (from the couple): We met at a bar outside the Lakeside rodeo. My friend Jose (Noland's friend) noticed Chrisy and a friend of hers from across the bar and decided to drag me along with him to pick her up. He dropped an extremely cheesy (and inappropriate) pick up line. Chrisy thought it was so funny that she stuck around talking to both of us. We ended up chatting the rest of the night and she agreed to go on a date with me the next day (to the rodeo!). The rest is history!
Janelle & Bryan
June 18, 2017
Bryan and Janelle were set up by their parents the day after Christmas and they instantly hit it off. their parents thought they would be a perfect match and they were right!
4 years later on vacation in hawaii bryan proposed to JANelle on the beach at napili bay on maui.
the couple grew up in san diego and their pathes were bound to cross at some point as bryan went to middle school and high school with JANelle's older sister.
Bryan and Janelle are excited to start their lives together and celebrate their love with their friends and family in June at the Sheraton in Carlsbad.
Melissa & Adam
June 15, 2017
A perfect day spent with a perfect couple. Melissa & Adam decided to do their engagement session on Coronado Island because it reminded them of all the times they spent there when they were first dating. Adam lived in Downtown San Diego and on the weekends they would take their bikes on the ferry over to Coronado to do some exploring. That exploring led to this beautiful relationship Melissa & Adam have. I had to give slim to no direction in posing as their chemistry was so natural. We cannot be more excited for Melissa and Adam's wedding this June (2017).
Ulises & Casper
June 5, 2017
Questions answered by the couple:
"How did you two meet?
I saw his profile and decided to message him (Casper) with a cheesy line, that I wasn't sure would work. I said, "So,What's your story?" He loved that line so much he immediately responded with a witty comment and I laughed my head off. We continued messaging back-and-forth and then eventually set up a date to meet up at local coffee shop. This first date was very awkward because we were both very nervous. He was very shy and kept looking down while I kept trying to make eye contact. We ordered some coffee and sat outside and began talkIng. He seem to be more comfortable and began talking, even though he was talking, I could tell he was still nervous. We shared common things such as, where grew up, our interests, a little bit about our family, etc. Then we talked about bands. I told him I love going to local shows because my friend was a promoter and I would do that a lot while I was in Orange County. I still remember he promised he would take me to go see some local bands. I'm still waiting...
From that first day I knew he was the man of my life I came home and shared the news with my roommates and they could tell I was very excited about this Casper . We went on a few more dates which were non-typical in by any means. Our second date we went to ghost hunting. Who take someone on a date to go ghost hunting? Casper does. Our third date was my choice being the sap that I am I chose to go watch the re-release of Beauty and the Beast. He didn't say no, but when we got to the theater he refused to buy tickets, he was so embarrassed. The whole time we were there I kept looking at him and wanting to get close to him he didn't seem to mind. Eventually at one point in the movie we began to hold hands. My heart was filled with a multitude of emotions. I knew what I felt, but I wasn't sure what he felt, even though he was holding my hand. Then there were outdoor dates where we would go hiking and talk about our dreams and hopes and experiences with life. Every time I would set up a time to meet with him my heart was skipping a beat because he made me smile and laugh. But this was not the only thing that drew me to this amazing man. One day I came home with a broken pencil sharpener and I asked if he could look at it. He open that thing up within five minutes and made it work my heart could not contain itself. I knew that he was my robot in shining armor . That was the moment I was unequivocally certain he was the one.
Who proposed? What was your proposal like?
Casper proposed.
I had just started my Master's program at SDSU and he was adamant that we take a trip up to Seattle. I was excited, but nervous, because of my program. I had a lot of homework that I needed to complete and wasn't to thrilled to be going up North because of my school, but I went up anyway. We strolled around the city for a one day. Then he took me on a one day trip to BainBridge Island. I was very excited because I had never taken a ferry to the island. We were at a beautiful park sitting on a bench with an amazing view of Seattle when Casper popped the question.
Why did you choose your venue(s)?
We were looking for a rustic ranch theme venue. We found circle oak ranch online and immediately scheduled a visit. Once we were there there was no doubt that it was the place we were going to get married."
