STYLED SHOOTS
Unexpectedly Extraordinary
Historic reverence meets modern sophistication in the newly reopened Chapel at Liberty Station, a 1942 historic landmark thoughtfully restored to contemporary glory.
“From the moment we first walked into the chapel, we felt the weight of its history and the responsibility that comes with stewarding a place like this,” says Michael Esposito, CEO of Snake Oil Venue Company. “Our job was to give it the thoughtful restoration it deserved and reopen the doors so it could once again serve as a place where the community celebrates, remembers, and gathers.”
The spirit of celebration is captured in this shoot designed by photography/videography duo Jane and Kolya Shukan.
“I wanted this shoot to feel completely unexpected. I brought in Jell-O, feathers, bright green couches, and other elements that I personally had not seen used in a wedding or styled shoot before,” Jane says. “More than just showcasing a beautiful venue with so much history, I wanted it to inspire couples to see that their wedding can be unique to them. You can push boundaries, do something different, and still have it feel tasteful and beautiful in a space as special as the Chapel.”
