A fairytale wedding in wine-country, what could be better? The rustic vibes as well as the deep colors work perfectly for the sunset wedding of your dreams.
Here’s the same table set up in the wine cave and outside on the patio. We love them both and can’t decide which is our favorite…

In honor of National Red Wine Day we wanted to shine the spotlight on some of our favorite Southern California wineries and their red wines. Besides making great wines, all of these wonderful wineries also are romantic wedding venues.
On their first International trip touring Europe they got engaged in front of the glass pyramid at the Louvre de Musse in Paris. Highlighting their love of travel they incorporated elements from around the globe. Custom engraved wood watches from San Diego, Wood cuff links with coordinates of the wedding venue and wood bow ties from the Ukraine, and marble earrings from Australia.
Having recently moved from Colorado to California most of their guests were traveling from out of state. In order to provide them with a relaxing, enjoyable and fun weekend they rented a 24,000 square foot house in wine country for their accommodations. They were able to have the rehearsal dinner there and it was the hub of family and fun.
As a wedding and special events coordinator at Wiens Family Cellars Irena relied on her personal experience and creativity to have fun with the wedding theme. Instead of choosing a color theme they opted to focus on textures like wood, copper, and marble.
Having lived in Colorado they love the outdoors and have an appreciation for the beauty of nature. Instead of flowers they chose to use greenery with an over grown look.
The wood elements were used in custom engraved watches and cufflinks for the groomsmen. Irena personally designed Colby’s rosewood band with a world map burned on the inside honoring their love of travel and adventure.
Copper elements began with inspiration from Colby who designed Irena’s ring using copper, and rose gold, it features an inverted split shank and a halo that surrounds a light pink morganite stone. Irena wore a rose gold back drop necklace to accentuate the low back of her dress. Their cake cutter and toasting flutes, as well as the copper wire wrapped boutonnières added a nice touch of copper as well. They also did a full copper world map on the top tier wedding cake.
Touches of marble were incorporated in the bottom layer of the cake, custom designed stationary, and marbled scarves for the mothers gifts and bridesmaids jewelry.
Their love of travel was captured in their clear glass globe guestbook, full copper world map on the top tier of our cake, and their food! Colby spent several months in the Andalusia region of Spain and it was the inspiration for their custom menu full of incredible Spanish tapas. They also chose to spend their Honeymoon in Spain exploring Barcelona, Sevilla and Majorca.

Charlene and Enrique pulled together as many elements as possible to reflect who they are as a couple. They were over 2,000 origami paper cranes to celebrate the bride’s Japanese heritage, several nods to their love of Disneyland, and even their cake had a Golden Gate bridge to celebrate San Francisco, where they met, dated and got engaged. Overall it still had a classic elegance achieved by lush florals and a romantic color palette.
