Since Shawna is from San Diego and Jaideep is from India, this is the first wedding they had here. Later they were able to celebrate with a second wedding in India. Wedding Inspiration from a Classic Movie

The look and feel of this wedding was actually inspired by the 1954 version of ‘Sabrina’ – with the backdrop of a beautiful San Diego sunset! The ceremony was held in the Garden and was very personal, a close friend of the family was their officiant, and their female friends and family members shared in the Persian sofreh part of the evening as well. Everyone enjoyed cocktail hour with beautiful flamenco guitar music and firelight before heading to the ballroom reception. There they enjoyed great food, prayers and toasts from their family, and lots and lots of dancing.

Courtney & Kelsey’s wedding was the perfect blend of simplicity and natural beauty. Their main focus was creating an atmosphere where all felt welcomed and comfortable while still honoring the seriousness and momentousness of the occasion. Working with Luce Loft’s intrinsically intimate setting and adding the magic of greenery and lights was the ideal spot. More of a party than your typical wedding.

What made Lisa & Ami’s wedding unique was venturing away from some of the “forced” elements that happens during typical weddings. They wanted to have a wedding that allowed people to move around and be free to enjoy themselves. They had a bar opened as guests entered and instead of a sit down dinner they had three food stations focusing on their cultural backgrounds, Italian and Indian, and tacos – their favorite food! And rather than a wedding cake, they chose to have a lavish dessert table and cheese station.

Classic and Romantic with Modern Touches

The wedding was classic and romantic, but had elements that made it modern day like the white washed chiavari chairs to the luxurious floral boxes and gold tapered candles. From the white, crisp, delicate blooms, blush pink bridesmaid dresses and the classic tux this sophisticated wedding style was timeless. The bride loved these geode bookends so much that she went to multiple stores to find enough to turn them into her table numbers.

Take Your Breath Away!

Danielle and Matthew chose Coasterra since it is on the water, has the most breathtaking view of downtown San Diego, and was most unique venue they saw in San Diego. It was the perfect setting for the sleek and modern wedding they had envisioned. Rustic and Romantic

with an Urban Vibe

From the start, Lydia and Gene knew they wanted their wedding to be intimate and true to themselves. They also wanted to host the wedding as a way to celebrate with their loved ones and thank them for the role they’ve played in their lives.  Their wedding was rustic and romantic in decor, but located downtown, so it still had an urban vibe that fit them well as a couple.

April and Nicole’s vision for their day was elegant, but simple, lots of colors and lots of love.

two brides, same sex wedding, sweetheart table

Nicole’s favorite colors are purple and orange and her favorite flower is the calla lily, so they were used throughout their wedding day. The vibe for their day was coastal classic with palm leaves and orchids down the aisle. They wanted their guests to relax with toes in the sand and a drink in their hand. As a symbol of their love, they took pictures on the beach with a rainbow smoke bomb. Love is love!

The Polynesian-themed wedding featured elements to honor the couple’s Chinese, Jewish, and Hawaiian heritages.

Including a ceremony that concluded with a traditional breaking of the glass, and a reception with Asian/Hawaiian-inspired cuisine. The overall theme of the event was “Team Juslie’s Marathon for Life” to celebrate their love for running and endurance athletics; the table placards were designed to look like running bibs. After all, marriage is indeed a marathon, not a sprint!

Persian Jewish Blend

This wedding was a blend of Sarah’s Persian culture and Benjamin’s Jewish background. They were able to find a great rabbi, who not only performed the Jewish ceremony, but incorporated aspects of the Persian wedding ceremony. It’s a true testament to the diversity of Southern California and the fact that two cultures can coexist and complement one another. The blending continued at the reception where they danced until the early hours to American hits, Persian pop, in addition to Jewish music such as the hora.
