REAL WEDDINGS

A Glamorous Affair

Raquel + Yonah

Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa

Raquel and Yonah’s glamorous summer wedding was set on the waterfront grounds of the Coronado Island Marriott. This love affair was a true match for the “crown city.” A first look and kiss under the arch of the iconic Coronado bridge set the scene for romance and timeless beauty. Raquel remembers Yonah whispering in her ear during that moment, ”You are the love of my life. I can’t wait to marry you and spend the rest of our lives together.”

Held on the bayside lawn, the ceremony backdrop honored the couple’s shared love of the ocean, both growing up by the water. An abundance of all-white flowers lined the pearlescent aisle while hanging crystals met the sway of a light breeze. South African, American, and Jewish traditions were lovingly incorporated throughout the day. Vows were exchanged under a floral canopy, with the cerulean bay and city skyline melting into the horizon. An intimate selection of family and friends
from all around the world surrounded the couple in elegant attire. Raquel’s brothers sang a beautiful Jewish blessing to the couple during the ceremony.

The ballroom was transformed into a luxurious wonderland of sparkling lights and florals, accented with gold and silver touches for the reception. Sophistication, sentiment, and glamour were designed into every element by the talented JK Events Team. Crystal-beaded chandeliers met the soft candlelight of the tablescapes, enhancing the romantic ambiance. Enchanting arrangements of orchids, roses, and peonies curated by Narine Events cascaded through the room in shades of blush, ivory, and champagne.

A professional dancer and singer, Raquel choreographed a surprise wedding dance for her groom, while her love of fashion was meticulously woven into each part of the night. “I wore a gorgeous, dreamy ball gown designed by
YSA Makino for the ceremony, a timeless, elegant dress for the reception, and a fun, sequined mini-dress designed by Judy Renfield for the surprise dance and party,” shared Raquel.

The lavish setting reflected the intensity of energy and love felt by Yonah and Raquel all evening. “Golden Hour” played as the sun set on their unforgettable wedding weekend.
