REAL WEDDINGS

A Grand Tuscan Soiree

Leila + Arash

Monserate Vineyards & Winery

Very few settings can compare to the jaw-dropping views of a vineyard wedding. For Leila, having experienced a spectacular proposal from now husband Arash on top of Aspen Mountain, the bar had been set pretty high. Located in Fallbrook, the Tuscan Estate at Monserate Vineyards & Winery did not disappoint. Reflecting on the yes that led them to their wedding day, Leila recalls the romantic journey that has been theirs. “In my vows, on our wedding day, I compared our love story to the red string theory. I truly believe from the day that I met Arash that our red strings were attached to each other, because over the last 15 years our paths kept crossing and there was this constant gravitational pull we both felt towards one another. Because of all of this history we had, there was not a single doubt in either of our minds that we were meant to spend the rest of our lives together.”

Their ceremony was held on the lawn overlooking the vineyard. Persian traditions, such as the Sofreh, were incorporated, representing all that the bride and groom would like to take into their marriage. Honey was chosen, reflecting the desire for bringing in the sweetest of things into their life as Mr. & Mrs.

The reception’s unique architecture, the Barrel Room, transported guests to an Italy-like atmosphere. Continuing on with Persian tradition, a special dance takes place prior to the cake cutting. Close friends playfully dance around the newly-formed couple, teasing the bride and groom by dancing with the knife. It’s up to the bride and groom to get the knife back, luring their friends to give it back with money. This lively experience is just one of the many symbolic rituals that sprinkled their unforgettable wedding. The rich setting & complimentary details gave generously to the wedding, reflecting the beautiful connection between the newly married couple. The Tombak, a form of the drum & one of the bride’s all-time favorite instruments, played as the evening went on, offering the perfect ending to a fairy-tale wedding.
