Long before Kate was even engaged, she was strolling with her mom through the seaside village of Del Mar when the pair spotted a bride taking photos outside the stunning seaside L’Auberge Del Mar. An awestruck Kate turned to her mom and said, “Can you imagine getting married there?”

It was almost as if Kate manifested her future. Fast forward to the day Kevin proposed to her, on the beach behind Jake’s Del Mar, just a stone’s throw from L’Auberge. After that, the couple’s fate was sealed. “I didn’t even look at any other venues,” Kate said. “I always knew that was what I wanted.”

Kate’s coastal chic fairy-tale dream came true on October 26th when she and Kevin said their vows in front of family and friends on L’Auberge’s top terrace overlooking the Pacific Ocean. With both families being from out of the area, the couple wanted to lean into the oceanfront opulence to present their wedding as a vacation destination for their out-of-town guests. To Kate, that meant choosing a color scheme that complemented the venue’s modern atmosphere. She selected timeless shades of blue — deeper Marseille and French blues to embody seaside elegance. Kevin and his groomsmen wore blue suits, while the bride adorned herself in a sleek gown with delicate lace touches, perfectly fitting of a celebration she wanted to remember as timeless, elegant, classic and cool. One of Kate’s favorite wedding elements: the florals by The Flower Boy. “When I walked out and saw them, that moment will always stay with me,” she said. “It’s like he took my Pinterest board and made it even more beautiful. I couldn’t have dreamt it any better!”

While the ceremony captured the reverent and classic details of the couple’s special day, the cool factor was in full effect with the transformative flipping of the venue’s various event spaces as the wedding night went on. From the terrace ceremony to the lower deck cocktail hour, back to the top deck for a sultry sunset and candlelit dinner, and finally to L’Auberge’s lower deck for festive fun, late-night munchies, and espresso martinis, the exceptional teams at L’Auberge and the couple’s wedding planner Willmus Weddings packaged the event perfectly — exceeding the bride’s expectations at every turn. “They were the absolute best, and I can’t thank them enough,” Kate said.

Kevin’s memories of the big day are much more personal. When asked his favorite part of his and Kate’s wedding, he simply replied, “looking into the crowd and seeing Kate for the first time.” That’s the kind of awwwww moment happily ever after is made of. ❥
