Meant To Be

Armani + Lydell

JULEP Venue

Love always finds a way, as Armani and Lydell know well. “Some love stories are written in the stars; ours began in a neighborhood park,” explained Lydell. “We were 13 years old when fate introduced us. I remember seeing Armani and thinking, ‘She’s the one.’ Little did I know, she thought the same. She had a friend ask for my number, and our connection began.”

Although their early years took them in different directions, their childhood crush was never far from their thoughts. Through friends — and destiny — they reunited during high school, feeling no absence of time. With a love as magical as theirs, it was fitting for Armani and Lydell to choose the timeless elegance of a black-tie celebration for their June wedding. Expert planner Renalyn Quinata of Cloudnine Events, along with floral designer Jeanine Sawyer of Little Goldfinch, assisted the couple in creating a sleek black and white affair at the unique JULEP venue. Featuring over 300 white Tibet roses, 60 bunches of baby’s breath, and all black and white seating and decor, the design matched the warmth and sophistication of the beloved couple.

Armani was perfection in her strapless Silvia gown from ForLove Bridal, accentuated by a stunning cathedral veil. Her bouquet was a classic pavé of roses, collared with sprigs of baby’s breath and stems wrapped in black velvet ribbon. Her bridesmaids wore black satin dresses by Birdy Grey. Lydell sported a custom tuxedo from The Grotto, featuring a jacket lined with pictures of the couple.

The ceremony site was flanked with black metal stands of varying heights with bursts of the day’s floral. Wedding party members processed down the candle-lined aisle to individually selected songs. The couple’s loved ones witnessed a memorable exchange of vows, captured masterfully by Kristina Joy Photography and videographer Joseph McCalment. Afterwards, guests enjoyed cocktails inspired by the couple’s dog, Koda, and tray-passed hors d’oeuvres provided by Bekker’s Catering.

The dinner reception kicked off with a surprise “bottle service” inspired celebration with custom made signs, strobe lights, and favorite music for the couple’s grand entrance. Guests enjoyed a scrumptious buffet-style dinner and joined Armani and Lydell on a custom dance floor for a party years in the making.
