Aciré didn’t know the exact city where she would marry, but she knew how it needed to feel. Outdoors. Near mountains. A destination. Intimate, yet expansive. That quiet certainty has shaped her love story from the very beginning.

Nearly nine and a half years ago, she and Elijah met online and went on a Sunday brunch date. It wasn’t extravagant or orchestrated, just the beginning of something that felt undeniably right. They’ve been together ever since.

Years later, on a spontaneous day off in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Elijah suggested a walk along the East River. Aciré assumed they were headed toward a new restaurant. Instead, they arrived at the pier where Elijah got down on one knee. The proposal came as a complete surprise, but the answer was easy. She said yes, another unexpected moment that felt perfectly right.

When it came time to choose a venue, the couple searched with that same openness. They discovered Tivoli online and were immediately drawn to its natural greenery and mountain backdrop. Though they had never been to San Diego, they booked flights from New York City to see it in person. “The moment we visited, we knew it was the one,” Aciré recalls. “It had everything we were looking for: natural greenery, mountains in the background, and an outdoor reception space that felt intimate and cozy.”

Their design approach followed that same instinct. The couple embraced a modern minimalist aesthetic, anchored in sage green, terracotta, ivory, and cream. Fresh Flower Society designed organic arrangements that complemented the landscape rather than competing with it, allowing Tivoli’s natural beauty to remain the focal point.

Aciré chose a Vera Wang gown with a sweetheart neckline and soft mermaid silhouette, the very elements she had envisioned from the start. Elijah wore a custom suit by Bindle & Keep, working closely with their team to select a shade of green that felt just right for the outdoor setting.

Walking down the aisle and exchanging personal vows became the emotional center of the day. Signature mojitos and pineapple margaritas set the tone for an evening of celebration, ending in a joyful bubble-gun exit and a late-night after-party with the friends and family who crossed coasts to celebrate the start of their life together.

From Brooklyn to Fallbrook to a two-week honeymoon in Thailand, Aciré and Elijah’s wedding was a reflection of trust: in each other, in instinct and in the quiet confidence of knowing when something is meant to be.
