Fairy-tale Florals

The lush, romantic Mediterranean-inspired Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa in Rancho Santa Fe served as the backdrop for this themed shoot designed to feel “elegant and timeless,” according to Nicole Shadoan of Wedding Agency San Diego. With florist Inna Judelson of Love Zen Floral at the helm, a soft, modern vision of California luxury took shape, and Judelson’s head-turning arrangements were at the heart. According to Shadoan, the focal point of the tablescape was the cascading florals. Since flowers are typically the first thing guests see at a wedding, that first impression was key. Judelson wanted the florals to flow seamlessly with the bride’s classic, glamorous style, meant to “stay in your mind, like a fairy-tale love story forever.” She chose flowers that were “simultaneously elegant, timeless, and modern,” mixing Quicksand roses, antique and white hydrangeas, and dahlias, with touches of anthurium, Japanese sweet peas, hellebores, and calla lilies. “I also used Amaranthus to create a dramatic, romantic vibe,” Judelson explained. Shadoan elevated the tablescape with subtle pops of color, textured linen, green glassware, and blush napkins, giving the shoot that “extra luxurious feel.”
