Little did Lana know that a dream internship in California for Amorology, a luxury wedding planning company, would lead to her meeting the love of her life, John. Lana interned with Amorology Weddings in 2016 when she moved to San Diego from Indiana for the opportunity. It was during this internship that Lana met John on Bumble, making the wedding planning experience come in full circle for them. They told Heather, owner of Amorology, they wanted their guests to feel embraced with a “hug” as they entered the wedding venue, and her
team delivered exactly that. The wedding was intimate, cozy, and beautiful.

“The Amorology team is not only exceptionally talented in design but also wonderfully kind. All the vendors Heather recommended were professional, skilled, and genuinely down-to-earth, contributing to a truly positive experience. We felt an extraordinary amount of love throughout the process, which is a rare find!” said Lana.

Lana and John wanted an outdoor venue that offered a charming atmosphere, fresh air, and natural beauty with garden elements that truly stand out. Amorology recommended Darlington House in La Jolla, and they loved its charm so much that it became the first and only venue they toured. What made their decision even more meaningful was discovering that Darlington House is a nonprofit venue.

Unique features they incorporated in their wedding decor were “small bee moments” like honeycomb and wax candlelight to allude to meeting on Bumble. They even gave their guests “a little buzz” with a champagne escort wall that later turned into a photo booth. The couple also designed custom cocktail napkins on Etsy featuring their own handwritten messages to each other. Lana did a brother sister dance, in addition to her father daughter dance.

“Our favorite part of the wedding was having all our closest friends and family together in one place,” Lana expressed. “It was a unique opportunity for many of them to meet for the first time and celebrate our marriage.” Since Lana isn’t local to San Diego, this was truly a once-in-a-lifetime event. They cherished dancing with their loved ones and capturing moments in the photo booth—it made the day even more special.
