For Saagar and Janki the joining of two families was at the center of each celebration. Their wedding, sprinkled with the Gujarati tradition, offered family and friends an opportunity to observe the traditions of Indian culture while marrying a vision for their future. Redefining age-old rituals comes with an overwhelming feeling of hope, as the promise to articulate a contemporary love story is guaranteed. Over the span of three days, guests participated in multiple gatherings where thoughtful and intricate designs inspired this special and unique Hindu wedding.

The Sangeet, a prewedding ceremony, featured a midnight in Marrakesh theme. With a palette of jewel tones, the East Lawn of Indian Wells Golf Resort colorfully popped with props such as Moroccan doors & pillows. Typically, the Sangeet Ceremony presents the two families with an opportunity to get to know one another better. Singing and dancing offer common interests to bridge the gap of the unknowns, allowing fertile ground for the union to flourish and prosper. But for Saagar, Janki, and their families, the need to get to know one another was not there. They have known each another for over two decades. Having met when she was only five years old, Janki remembers how nice it was to build a relationship on friendship prior to becoming Mr. & Mrs.

Their wedding day hosted a myriad of pastel colors, with a theme of desert gardens. The bride’s outfit featured Indian designer Seema Gujral’s fantastic Nude Pearl Drop Lehenga set. The ceremony was held at the driving range at JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort and Spa, featuring light rustic colors and clay pots. They wanted the formalities to be unique to their time with an emphasis on two families becoming one. Both parents participated with a joining of hands, while setting a record for the shortest ever Hindu wedding ceremony of only 50 minutes.

The reception took place on the Springs Terrace at JW. Emerald colors highlighted the luxurious architectural features of the property. Mirrors, chandeliers and lush greenery shimmered like a delicate fantasy. Elements of every table setting echoed ethereal grove. Its exquisite beauty was only matched by the bride’s bustier gown by For Love & Lemons.
