Support San Diego and California’s Private Event Industry

Private Event Industry Marches to Capitol in Wedding Dresses and Tuxedos to Demand Reopening Guidelines

If “love can overcome all” then it is time for the work of event professionals to be included in Governor Gavin Newsom’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy. Commemorating life’s most precious events CAN be done in the same healthful and safe manner that restaurants and other sectors are exercising. Despite being an industry that contributes over $400 billion annually to the California economy and supports over 3 million jobs, the events industry has been ignored. CAPE is hosting a “Walk for Wedding” to bring attention to the private events industry and request to be included in the reopening plans as well as requesting guidelines for the industry. Without being assigned to any of the industry sectors for reopening guidance, private events don’t even have the prospect of reopening, regardless of a county’s color designation.

If you want to support the cause, but can’t go to Sacramento to march, the best way is to join CAPE  which will provide financial support for the lobbying. We would also appreciate it if you could repost on your personal and business social pages to get the word out.
