Ask Abby: When Should I Ask People to Be In My Wedding Party?

By sdwedding

My fiance and I just got engaged and have set a date for Spring 2018. We already know who we want in our bridal party, but when is too soon to ask them?

The best way to approach this situation is sooner rather than later. Being in a bridal party can add up quickly and while your friends and family will be thrilled to be bridesmaids and groomsmen, they may need to start saving up for the occasion. As an added bonus, the sooner you ask, the sooner they can start helping out!

The best rule of thumb if you don’t have people in mind already and need to think about it is to make sure to have your bridal party asked and committed by the time your Save the Dates go out.
