Ellie and Michael first developed a friendship at church, then dated. Michael proposed when he took Ellie to North Carolina to meet his family and surprised Ellie by having her parents fly in from California to be there, too! The couple wanted a simple ceremony with a short sermon and their vows. Their reception was a giant party with a Southern theme.
