New shop features handmade hats for men and women
plus bridal headpieces
and men’s accessories.

Yesterday, hat maker Jill Courtemanche opened her namsake shop today in Solana Beach.  Jill Courtemanche Millinery (JCM) features handmade hats as well as bridal headpieces and a modern collection of accessories for men. From fascinators to fedoras, Jill Courtemanche’s hats are the perfect topper for holiday parties and events as well as a great gift for anyone on your shopping list.

The shop doubles as Courtemanche’s studio and shoppers will be able to see her working and to handpick materials and trims for custom hats. All JCM designs are handmade using vintage materials, trims and embellishments combined with modern fabrics.  Courtemanche combines traditional techniques and craftsmanship with a young, feminine and contemporary approach to her hats.
Several celebrities including Yoko Ono, Donatella Versace, Princess Mary of Denmark and football legend José Fouré have worn JCM hats which are perfect for a variety of outings from social events to religious services, horse races and nights on the town. She also makes a line of bow ties and pocket squares for men.

Jill Courtemanche graduated from New York City’s prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology in the mid-90’s and after a decade of working alongside master artisans in New York and Europe, opened her namesake atelier in 2006.
In addition to Jill Courtemanche originals, JCM will also carry lines of hats from, House of Nines (San Francisco), Cigmond (Brooklyn, NY), Eggcup Designs (Dover, Delaware), and Romer Millinery (Summit, NJ) as well as scarves and accessories from Untold Imprint.
